Bottom Line

Once again Let Me Out Brussels offered a good compromise between decoration, puzzles and fun. The game was well made with a good story-line especially great for teambuilding. Although the decoration is clearly home-made with a lot of Do-it-Yourself elements, the fun factor was elevated enough to forget about it, and immerse you into the game.

Story

We are in the world of Lewis Carroll: Alice in Wonderland seen through the eyes of the escape room provider Let Me Out in Brussels. A theme that can be a make it or break it if the implementation is not on par with the story.

An original story for Brussels, which is always a good idea. More themes, more diversity

There is a door that allows you to go to wonderland, a magical place where everything seems to be possible. Meet a giant caterpillar, a cat who plays jazz, play cricket with the queen and do everything you want, but don’t forget one rule: Get back in 60 minutes or the door will disappear and you will stay in Wonderland forever. Let me Out -Brussels

Games and puzzles

The game starts with the team being split in two. One half will be in the rabbit hole and the other half in the regular room.

It’s a linear game and the puzzles are based on the player’s attention to detail, dexterity and most importantly at least for the beginning communication.

As they showed in the previous room we tested, Let Me Out have a good understanding of the way a game unravels and the technical skills to create some interesting technology based puzzles. Not as many as there were in Spaceship but the game has a good ratio for this particular theme.

Claustrophobic at one point, it was very interesting to see how we can work together to reach a common goal

Atmosphere and design

Decorations are in the same Do-It-Yourself kind of style as it is with all their rooms, but made with taste and with a lot of attention to details. Something that they also expect from you through the different game stages.

Furniture and props are well integrated in the story and even the smallest object can have a meaning in the puzzles.

You are continuously being monitored, so they know if you get stuck on a puzzle for too long. In any case you can at all times ask for hints through the provided walkie-talkie. There are no restrictions to the number of hints that you can receive although please restrain from asking too many since it would just kill your mood.

We escaped well in due time and had a lot of fun which is the final goal after all…

Logistics

Let Me Out operate 3 rooms with 3 different themes at the time of this review. Minimum number of players is 2 for any of the rooms.

Reception area is very well done with props for photographs, several types of drinks, coffee, tea and a social games area to keep your mind busy in-between games. There is enough space for birthday parties or company events, and they have a separate room for events that need a projector.

Further information and observations

Currently they are the cheapest operator of escape rooms in Brussels (per person).

Spaceship

by Escape Reviews on Tuesday March 14th, 2017
We visited the room in December 2016 and as usual we are late with the review. I know, again shame on us. We are one step closer though. Check out the HOT TIP in the review! Story New theme, never played such a theme, so completely new on all aspects: provider, theme, game-play and hopefully technology. Games and […]
